Kyneton and the wider Macedon Ranges have some of the strictest bushfire planning controls in the state. Big parts of the shire sit inside the Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO), which means new builds, extensions and even some outbuildings need a proper Asset Protection Zone assessed and maintained. Ironbark Vegetation Management does the physical side of that, vegetation work scoped to the applicable permit, endorsed plan or notice, forestry mulching, slashing, fence lines and driveway defensible space, all on lifestyle properties and horse properties where the finish actually matters.

• 01The BMO covers wide areas of Kyneton, Woodend, Trentham, Malmsbury, Tylden and out toward Macedon and Mount Macedon. BMO coverage alone does not establish a clearing obligation. Check any planning permit, endorsed bushfire management plan and ongoing conditions with council.
• 02Lifestyle properties and horse properties across the Macedon Ranges expect a clean finish, an agreed cut height, protected fencing and gates managed around livestock. Machinery can disturb ground; the likely finish is discussed on-site.
• 03Tall, dry grass can carry fast-moving fire. Slashing reduces grass fuel, but does not remove fire risk; timing follows growth, conditions and current restrictions.
• 04Blackberry along creeks and gullies is a Macedon Ranges specialty. Mechanical mulching opens it up; holding it back also needs a follow-up treatment plan arranged with a suitable weed contractor.
